• Additionally, the app offers four image quality options, including 480p, 720p (good), 720p (better), and 1080p HD video, which allows you to reduce data usageHowever, the app has some connection issues with iOS and Android devices at the same time, which might result in errors like “already in use” or “unable to connect.”

Ring App

The Ring app, on the other hand, has all the features and functionalities implemented in one place:

• The app allows you to add multiple Ring and Ring Pro doorbells and manage them from one place.
• You can also add and integrate with different partners like ADT Pulse, Wemo, Lockstate, Kevo, Wink, Kisi, and Lockitron.
• The app also offers a 30-day trial for cloud storage, after which you can set up a payment service to store and view all videos for the last six months.
• You can set up Ring Alerts and Motion Alerts for each doorbell and link indoor chimes that you can buy from them.

The only three differences in application between Ring and Ring Pro are that Ring Pro has a live view feature, a better motion detector interface and setup, and you can see the battery life of Ring doorbell, which lets you know when it’s time to recharge it.

Overall, both apps offer unique features and functionalities that cater to different needs. However, Ring’s app appears to be more comprehensive and has more features to offer than Skybell’s app.

Smart Home Integration

When it comes to smart home integration, both Skybell and Ring offer a range of options to connect with other devices and systems.

• Skybell can work with Nest products, including Nest Protect’s smoke alarm, to trigger a warning and smoke alarm when necessary. Additionally, it can activate Nest Cameras automatically when the Skybell detects motion. The Skybell app also supports IFTTT, allowing you to create custom commands and integrate with other smart home devices. Skybell can also connect with Kevo smart lock, allowing you to control your door lock through the Skybell app.
• Ring, on the other hand, has a range of integration options with different home automation gadgets. You can connect it to smart locks, such as the Kwikset Kevo, to operate your door locks directly through the live video feed. The app can also be connected to Wemo and Wink systems, enabling you to turn on/off power outlets and light switches directly from the app. Additionally, you can integrate Ring with ADT Pulse for added security features. And it also integrates perfectly with Echo Show devices and not with Google Nest Hubs.

Main Differences

It’s hard to decide which smart doorbell to choose, and right now I am considering Ring Pro vs Skybell HD.

Ring Pro has better audio quality, movement sensing is the best among others and also the app which never let me down. Picture definition is great, but not the best. It does work with a lot of different smart home gadgets but doesn’t support IFTTT yet.

Choosing between Skybell vs Ring can be a tough decision, especially when it comes to Skybell HD vs Ring Pro. Ring Pro stands out with its superior audio quality, advanced motion detection, and reliable app. And when comparing Ring Doorbell Pro vs Pro 2 video doorbells then the latest come with better video quality and advanced motion detection. The visual clarity is great, although not the best, and Ring Pro is compatible with a range of smart home devices, although IFTTT integration is currently not available.

On the other hand, Skybell HD offers the best video quality with clear, colorful footage in both day and night conditions. It also supports IFTTT, which is great for customizing smart home automation. The doorbell comes with seven days of free cloud storage for videos, making it a great value. However, the audio can be a bit slow, and the motion detector is not as customizable as Ring Pro. Additionally, the Skybell HD app may have some connectivity issues.

While both doorbells have their advantages and disadvantages, I ultimately chose Ring Pro for its sleek appearance, excellent audio quality, and reliable performance. It’s also convenient that you only need to charge it once a year and don’t have to cut any wires in your house. Ring video record plan provides a 30-day free trial of its cloud video storage service and charges $3 per month for 60 days of video storage. On the other hand, Skybell offers seven days of free video storage, which might be enough for some users, but if you need more storage, then Skybell charges $3 per month for 30 days of video storage.

It’s worth noting that both Ring vs Skybell doorbell provide options to store videos for free using home DVR systems, which can be a more cost-effective solution in the long run. However, setting up a home DVR system requires some technical knowledge and effort, and not everyone might be willing to go through the hassle.

Overall, when it comes to subscription and pricing, Ring and Skybell offer similar options with slight differences in the duration of the free trial and the amount of free video storage.

Response Time

In terms of response time, both the Ring vs Skybell doorbells have performed well in our tests. We didn’t notice any significant delay between the time someone pressed the smart doorbell and when the app notified us of the visitor’s presence.
