If you want to have monitor at home like intercom then I suggest you to look into one of the models from 1Byone Video Doorbells.

How about a video door bell system that also has the ability to unlock the door (in this case a pedestrian gate at the edge of the property)? All, with the ability to be operated from an iPhone.

Ring Video Doorbell support smart lock systems from LockState, Kisi, or Lockitron.
You will able to open the lock through the app during the call if you have any of this locks installed into the gate.

Question on Ring doorbell….I have an 8 ft iron fence surrounding my property. I saw the comment about weather resistance, which for me, was a concern. Also, though, I am wondering if there are any security features that disable the device, let’s say, if someone rips it from fence gate and wants to try to resell it. I would be using it in battery mode. I currently do not have a bell at the fence.

      Hello Lynne,
      Yes, it’s weather proof.
Ring doorbell will detect, record and store video in the cloud if someone will steal it. In this case Ring offers free replacement.
I think company able to disable the doorbell from their end to not able new users to use it.

    3. Wifi connection

The best bet will Ring Video Doorbell Pro because it does have HD camera and you can view it anytime and it will record when motion sensor triggered.
Also, it does have 2-way audio and wifi connection and it’s integrated with Nest.
There another choice will be Skybell HD which is actually Nest certified doorbell.

    Hi
Will the ring Pro or Basic Ring effect my existing Cox Home wireless alarm system?

I have a camera from them yet it is very obscure & mounted by front door high in an area that can’t be moved-so I am thinking of installing a ring system for better facial recognition
Also~ does the ring pro or basic Ring come with a door bell chime for my inside Door bell- or do I need to hard wire it to my existing door bell for the chime to work inside?

I have a very skinny area where my doorbell is now mounted..therefore A ring Pro would fit better if it covers my existing bell area..Hope this makes sense.. I suppose I can disconnect my door bell & put the ring in a new area if possible

    Thank you for your time

      Hi El,
Neither of them won’t effect your wireless alarm system.
The Ring doorbell you can power up with just a battery, but Ring Pro required hard-wiring to existed doorbell.
And yes, when you hard wire it then it will work with existing chimes.
The other way is to buy Ring chimes which aren’t expensive and no need wires.

Sound like you can just get Ring Pro and wire it old wires. And yes, Ring Pro is way smaller than original model.

(Front gate is 15-20 yards away hopefully not to far away for signal?)
-Doorbell on gate ( I can hardwire if necessary)
-Front gate lock with key pad
    -Video/audio
-All to be used by smart device and able to open lock remotely.

    I’m also thinking about :

Lutron for remotely turning on lights
    Cannery for some extra cameras

      Hey Frank,
It will work. The distance isn’t problem.
It actually all depends on your wireless router. If for some reasons you will have weak signal you can just add range extender.
Lutron is good way to go .

Thanks for the review, it was helpful. I must mention that your description of facial recognition is not accurate. According to Ring, this is a passive feature that simply gets adjusted by raising or lowering your motion sensitivity. There is no active recognition that will recognize your family etc. It is simply a fancy way of saying the motion sensing creates less false alerts if you so choose. The floating face boxes shown in their videos etc do not exist. There are no settings around this feature. Perhaps it’s planned for the future?

    Hello Rebone,
The best bet will be one of Doorbird gate intercoms:
    DoorBird Video Door Station D101
    DoorBird WiFi Video Doorbell D202
and set it up with any tablet at home.

Let me know with which intercom you decided to go and what is your experience with the device after.

    Hello James,
I agree, paying for multiple clouds accounts isn’t great idea, but some people ok to pay more for piece of security.
Skybell HD comes with 7 days free cloud storage which is in 99% cases are good enough.
Also, you can setup system with DVR and record everything at home, but it’s more diy method.

    Hello Velvetlady,
I understand that you have 5 different doors and would like to have 5 remote buttons and 1 wireless doorbell connected with them and ability to play different mp3 sound when remote buttons pressed.
You can get new Honeywell doorbell with 450 feet range and mp3 tones and you can connect up to 6 remote controls.

    Hello Louis,
    This is the interesting question!
Phone line provides around 90V AC and power kit should stabilize the power and output optimal power to Ring Pro doorbell.
I didn’t test it myself and I think it’s better to contact Ring support and see what they will answer, to be safe with warranty.

If video isn’t priority then you can get 2 Ring Video Doorbell (it has 720p camera only) and 5 cheap android or iOS tablets and connect all together.
It’s not going to be expensive because you can get used tables for cheap and Ring doorbell first gen isn’t expensive anymore.

    There are 2 solutions:
    1. Get intercom with multiple receivers like this one.
It support up to 6 different offices. It looks professional and you can put office names next to the buttons, but it comes with the camera.
    2. Or you can get 5 doorbells like Honeywell and put Office Names above on the chimes.
